NEXT MEETING, FEBRUARY 10… our own Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven College, will be our speaker.

LAST MEETING, FEBRUARY 3... Dr. Larry Brock, Medical Director of the Health and Longevity Center in Gulf Shores, Alabama, gave us some fascinating information about the McCullough Institute at the Center. The Institute is set up to provide Electron Beam Tomography (EBT), a non-invasive scan that can capture images of internal organs at a speed (1/20 of a second) that is much faster than traditional CT Scanners, and provides an excellent diagnostic tool for heart, lung, and other potential trouble spots. As Dr. Brock reminded us, it is extremely important to KNOW the status of various predictors, and numbers alone don’t tell the complete story. Dr. Brock is going to send additional material to us, including information on how we might avail ourselves of the imaging at the Institute, since a large number of members are very interested. Thanks to Wes Holsapple for arranging and introducing this program.

And you can still get your Raffle Tickets ($100 each; each Rotarian is expected to buy at least two) until 5:00 p.m. on February 19. PROGRAM AT THE BANQUET…will be an outstanding humorous speaker some of us heard at the last District meeting (we signed him up on the spot). You’ll really enjoy this, and every other part of our evening at the Country Club.
