NEXT MEETING, APRIL 7… Secretary of State Eric Clark will be our speaker.

LAST MEETING, MARCH 31…the Rotary Group Study Exchange people from India were our guests. Headed by an Indian Rotarian, the group of four outstanding young people from the northern part of India told us about their country’s history, government, climate, geography, traditions, economy, and industry. They are an outstanding group who represented their country well. Later in the day, they were to visit the Capitol, local law enforcement, and a stock brokerage, thanks to several of our members whose careers mirror those of our visitors. Thanks to Group Study Exchange Chairman Jim Malloy for arranging and introducing this program.

WELCOME TO NEW MEMBER… number 33 of this Rotary year. Introduced to the club at the March 24 meeting was…
Lee Bush, President/CEO, National Collection Systems LLC. Lee was introduced by his proposer, LeRoy Walker.

YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS… has approved the following new member proposals. If no objections are received within seven days, they will be introduced to the club as new members:
Royce Boyer, Professor Emeritus, University of Alabama-Huntsville. Royce was proposed by Vickie Greenlee.

POLIOPLUS REPORT… President Howard announced on March 31 that we have exceeded our club goal of $22,000. At press time, checks are still coming in, so we’ll give you a total later. But, congratulations to everyone who contributed!

THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL… the hotel really is going up on the price of our luncheon. Next week, it’ll cost $12, not $10. And next week, there’ll be a report from a special committee that’s been looking into our meeting place. Stay tuned.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER… Today is the final day of the special emphasis on the PolioPlus Campaign. Thank you for your generosity in making contributions to this very deserving endeavor. I feel sure that we have exceeded our goal of $22,000. On a different note, it has been brought to my attention that we need more time for fellowship each Monday before the bell rings, and I wholeheartedly support this idea. Since the doors open at 11:30, I would suggest that you leave your office at 11:30 or before to allow about 20 or 25 minutes for this purpose. – Howard (Editor’s Note: Howard will be flying to South Korea later this week to make a major address to a conference there. He covets your prayers. And he hopes that the pilot doesn’t confuse SOUTH Korea with NORTH.)
