THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON JULY 1,
AS WE CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY

NEXT MEETING, JULY 8… We’ll have our annual “Changing of the Guard,” as President Howard Catchings takes over from Past President Roger Venable. This is always a good meeting, as we reflect on the past year and plans are announced for the coming year. Be there.

LAST MEETING, JUNE 24… the club was scheduled to hear from Dick Wilcox, who was to tell us about BIPEC. Your Editor admits to not having been at the meeting, since the Rotary International Convention was taking place that very day in Barcelona. (Given the choice, wouldn’t YOU rather be in Barcelona?) Anyway, we’re sure that Dick gave an excellent presentation. But we’ll not be able to give you highlights.

DUES ARE DUE… This Rotagram came to you in an envelope, since it also included our semi-annual dues statement. Please note that there is an extra added dimension to the way dues may be paid this time around. A number of members have asked that they be able to pay dues with a credit card, in a similar fashion to the way they purchase raffle tickets in February. So we set up to do that. And we added American Express, which was also requested. If you wish to pay your dues with a credit card, fill out the form at the bottom of the dues statement, and either mail it or FAX it to us. And this semi-annual reminder: Dues are PAST due on August 10. After that date, you’ll owe us an additional $10 penalty. So do it now.

YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS… has approved the following new member proposal. If no objection is received within 10 days, he will be introduced as a new member:

  • Charles Burnham, Executive Director, State Veterans Board. Charles was proposed by Walter Michel.

ONE MORE REMINDER… to please let us know if you want to change any of your personal information (or your photo) that appears on our website (rotaryclubofjackson.org). In just a few weeks, we’ll transfer all that information electronically to the printer of our Picture Directory. If you want to make any changes, just phone the Rotary office (352-8500), and leave the information on the answering machine. If you want a new photo, call Gib Ford (353-9675) and make an appointment to have one made. Gib sends the photos to the website people electronically. Now aren’t we really uptown, technically speaking?
